When you contact us, request a meet-and-greet, or book a service, we may collect:

• Your name, email address, and phone number
• Your neighborhood or home address (needed for walks, boarding pickup/drop-off, and house-sitting)
• Information about your dog (name, breed, age, behavior, medical needs, vaccination records)
• Emergency contact and your veterinarian's information
• Home access details for house-sitting (e.g., entry instructions)
• Anything you include in a message to us

Payment information

We accept payment through third-party services such as Venmo. We do not collect or store your full financial account numbers ourselves — those are handled by the payment provider under their own privacy terms.

Information collected automatically

When you visit our site, our hosting provider and analytics tools automatically collect standard technical and usage data such as your IP address, browser and device type, and how you interact with the site (pages viewed, unique visits, and clicks). We use this only in aggregate, anonymized form to understand how the site is used and to improve it — we don't use it to identify you personally.

2. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

• Respond to your inquiries and schedule meet-and-greets
• Provide dog walking, boarding, and house-sitting services
• Communicate with you about bookings, your dog, and your account
• Process payments and keep records
• Keep your dog (and the other dogs we care for) safe, including acting in an emergency
• Improve our website and services

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone.

3. How we share your information

We share personal information only as needed to run our business, with:

• Service providers that power our site and operations — for example, our form provider (Formspree), our website host (Netlify), and our payment provider (Venmo). These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy policies.
• Veterinarians and emergency services — if your dog needs care while in our charge, we may share relevant information to get them treated.
• Legal requirements — if required by law, subpoena, or to protect the safety of a person or animal.

We do not share your information with third parties for their own marketing.

4. "Do Not Track" signals

Some browsers can send a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. Our website does not currently respond to DNT signals, because there is no common industry standard for how to interpret them.

5. Cookies and analytics

Our website uses analytics tools and similar technologies to understand how visitors use the site — for example, which pages are viewed and where visitors click. This information is collected and reviewed only in aggregate, anonymized form; we don't use it to identify individual visitors. We use Netlify for this. You can usually control cookies through your browser settings.

6. Reviewing, changing, or deleting your information

You can ask us to review, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you at any time. Just email us at hoptoitsf@gmail.com and we'll respond promptly. Note that we may need to keep certain records (such as for tax or liability purposes) even after a request.

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We can't guarantee absolute security, but we work to safeguard the information you share with us.

8. Children's privacy

Our website and services are intended for adults (18+). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we'll delete it.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we'll update the effective date at the top and post the revised policy on this page. Your continued use of our site or services after changes means you accept the updated policy.
